Instructions for implementing Group B COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control activities in Vietnam

To unify the implementation of group B COVID-19 epidemic prevention activities, the Ministry of Health requests ministries, ministerial-level agencies, Government agencies and People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to direct the implementation of the following contents:

(1) Based on the actual epidemic situation, declare the epidemic and end the epidemic; organize a Steering Committee for COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control at all levels according to the Law on Infectious Disease Prevention and Control 2007.

(2) Review, annul, or amend documents and instructions issued under your authority that are no longer appropriate to the situation.
when COVID-19 changed classification from a group A infectious disease to a group B infectious disease.

(3) Organize and implement Group B COVID-19 epidemic prevention activities according to the following regulations and instructions:

- Regarding disease surveillance and prevention

+ Plan for control and sustainable management of the COVID-19 epidemic for the period 2023–2025, issued together with Decision 3984/QD-BYT in 2023.

+ Instructions for monitoring and preventing COVID-19 disease were issued together with Decision 3985/QD-BYT in 2023.

- Regarding treatment and infection control at medical examination and treatment facilities

+ Instructions for preventing and controlling COVID-19 infection at medical examination and treatment facilities issued together with Decision 2609/QD-BYT in 2023.

+ Instructions for the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 were issued together with Decision 2671/QD-BYT in 2023.

+ Instructions for rehabilitation and self-care for some post-COVID-19 diseases issued together with Decision 1242/QD-BYT in 2022.

(4) Regarding instructions for payment of treatment costs for patients with COVID-19, policies for people participating in the fight against COVID-19, and building demand, ensure funding for medical examination, treatment, and disease surveillance when the COVID-19 epidemic changes from group A to group B infectious disease according to Official Dispatch 6923/BYT-DP in 2023.

(5) Strengthen risk communication and epidemic prevention and control measures; encourage the implementation of 2K (Mask - Disinfection) to protect the health of individuals, families, and communities, especially in crowded places such as on public transport, at medical examination and treatment facilities, etc.

Regularly update information on the epidemic situation and related policies on COVID-19 prevention and control so that people understand, agree, and proactively participate in disease prevention and control activities.
