Instruction on how to report spam messages, calls and emails in Vietnam

On 13/12/2021, the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam promulgated Circular 22/2021/TT-BTTTT elaborating a number of articles Decree 91/2020/NĐ-CP on fighting spam messages, spam emails, and spam calls.

According to the Circular, users in Vietnam report and provide evidence of spam messages as follows:

- Send reports via messages to 5656: users compose a reporting message using the syntax:

S [Sending source] [Spam content] or S (Sending source) (Spam content) and send it to 5656;

- Submit reports according to instructions given on thongbaorac.ais.gov.vn or via the switchboard or the application

Users in Vietnam report and provide evidence of spam calls as follows:

- Send reports via messages to 5656: users compose a reporting message using the syntax:

V [Calling source] [Spam content] or V (Calling source) (Spam content) and send it to 5656;

- Submit reports according to instructions given on thongbaorac.ais.gov.vn or via the switchboard or the application.

In addition, users in Vietnam report and provide evidence of spam emails as follows:

- Submit reports by forwarding spam emails to chongthurac@vncert.vn;

- Submit reports according to instructions given on thongbaorac.ais.gov.vn or via the switchboard or the application.

Circular 22/2021/TT-BTTTT takes effect from 01/03/2022.
