Instruction on Establishing Health and Military-Civilian Health Centers Only in Island Districts and Border Areas

Circular 34/2019/TT-BYT stipulating the organization of military-civilian medical facilities and the direction of activities for military-civilian medical collaboration was issued by the Ministry of Health on December 30, 2019.

Circular 34 has introduced 04 organizational forms for military and civilian medical examination and treatment facilities, along with the criteria for establishment corresponding to each organizational form. To be specific:

- Military-Civilian Hospital: Only applicable to military-civilian hospitals that have been established by competent authorities before October 30, 2018;- Military-Civilian Infirmary: Only established in border communes, border districts, island communes, island districts, and communes and districts in areas of exceptional socio-economic difficulties;- Military-Civilian Medical Center: Only established in island districts and border districts;- Military-Civilian Medical Station: Only established in border communes, island communes, and communes in areas of exceptional socio-economic difficulties where the above organizational forms do not exist.
