Inclusion of Minority Languages in General Education Curriculum

On August 17, 2017, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Official Dispatch 3767/BGDDT-GDDT guiding the implementation of the tasks for the 2017 - 2018 academic year concerning ethnic education.

Noteworthy is the content aimed at enhancing the teaching and learning of minority languages in primary and secondary schools. The Ministry requires:

- Localities to strictly implement policies for teachers and learners of minority languages; allocate funds for printing books and teaching materials for minority languages;- Departments of Education and Training to actively advise the Provincial People's Committees to introduce the needed minority languages into the school curriculum, and to develop a comprehensive plan for the introduction of minority languages into schools;- Actively researching and constructing pilot teaching programs and materials for minority languages, progressing towards the official inclusion of minority languages in primary and secondary schools;- Strengthening coordination among various agencies and departments to organize creative experiential activities in minority languages for minority students.

**Additionally, continue to implement and enhance the quality of minority language education for management officials and teachers in minority and mountainous regions according to Directive 38/2004/CT-TTg dated November 29, 2004, and Circular 36/2012/TT-BGDDT.
