On April 6, 2016, Decree 26/2016/ND-CP stipulates policies on allowances and subsidies for officials and public employees and workers working at drug addiction treatment centers, post-drug rehabilitation centers, and public social assistance establishments.

Allowance rates for medical preferential treatment according to professions for officials and public employees working at facilities managing drug addicts and post-rehabilitation drug users are as follows:

- 70% for medical specialists and public employees directly examining, treating, caring for, and testing drug addicts with HIV/AIDS.

- 50% for medical specialists and public employees directly working in healthcare and individuals directly supervising, protecting, transporting, and serving drug addicts with HIV/AIDS at facilities in regions with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions, and 40% at facilities in other regions.

- 35% for medical specialists and public employees directly working in healthcare and individuals directly serving drug addicts in detoxification and withdrawal treatment at facilities in regions with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions, and 30% at facilities in other regions.

Additionally, these officials and public employees are also entitled to educational preferential allowances.
