Improvement of inspection capability for the implementation of ethnic policy for officials in Vietnam

The overall objective of the Scheme is to enhance and update the professional knowledge and inspection skills related to the implementation of ethnic policies for officials responsible for inspection tasks in state management agencies concerning ethnic affairs in Vietnam. This aims to strengthen the effectiveness of state management on ethnic affairs, contributing to the effective implementation of ethnic policies from central to local levels in Vietnam during the period from 2025 to 2030.

Additionally, the Scheme also sets out specific objectives such as:

- Continuously improving policies and legislation to enhance the capacity of officials undertaking inspection tasks in the implementation of ethnic policies within state management agencies concerning ethnic affairs. Developing and compiling training materials, updating knowledge, and enhancing capabilities in profession and inspection skills in implementing ethnic policies to meet practical demands.

- By 2030, 100% of officials tasked with inspection duties in state management agencies concerning ethnic affairs will have undergone training, updated their knowledge, and enhanced their professional capabilities and inspection skills in implementing ethnic policies.

- By 2030, 100% of state management agencies related to ethnic affairs will have accelerated activities regarding digital transformation; and modernized the database systems regarding the inspection and implementation of ethnic policies.

The Scheme is deployed at the Inspectorate and several departments and units responsible for checking the implementation of ethnic policies under the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs; the Inspectorate and specialized departments under the Provincial Committee for Ethnic Affairs; and the District Ethnic Affairs Office in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

More details can be found in Decision 1220/QD-TTg, which comes into force in Vietnam from October 18, 2024.
