Implement the social distancing for high-risk groups of COVID-19 Infection

On August 14, 2020, the Government Office of Vietnam issued Notice 300/TB-VPCP on the Prime Minister's conclusion on COVID-19 prevention and control.

After listening to the report of the Vietnam National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, the opinions of the Deputy Prime Ministers and the attendees, the Prime Minister of Vietnam directed the Ministry of Health, the People’s Committees of provinces, and centrally-run cities to continue directing:

  • Healthcare facilities to strictly implement measures for preventing and controlling the epidemic within the facilities; equip the epidemic control forces with sufficient and timely protective gear to prevent cross-infection; under no circumstances should negligence lead to the outbreak and spread of the disease from healthcare facilities;
  • Implement social distancing for high-risk groups including the elderly, people with cardiovascular conditions, and those with other chronic diseases;
  • Invest in expanding additional testing facilities in the localities. All hospitals must develop scenarios and prepare all necessary facilities and human resources to respond locally to the epidemic, avoiding excessive movement of patients;
