Identifying the Root Causes of Human Trafficking of Women

This is one of the many prominent activities in the Plan to implement the recommendations of the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, as stipulated in Decision 668/QD-TTg by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam.

The Prime Minister requires Ministries, sectors, and localities to urgently implement several activities during the period of 2017 - 2020 as follows:

- Conduct research on the scale, extent, and root causes of the trafficking of women and girls for exploitation and sexual purposes;- Study and evaluate the current state of granting land use right certificates in the names of both husband and wife to ensure women's equal rights;- Early detection, intervention, and handling of gender-based violence cases, illegal marriage brokerage, and protection of victims;- Research, review, and amend regulations on the prohibition of discrimination in the Labor Code.
