Decision 1418/QD-BTTTT promulgated Criteria to identify the "press-like" magazine, general electronic information page and social networks, and the expression of "privatization" of the press in Vietnam
According to the Decision in Vietnam, the identification criteria for the form of "press-like" magazine, journal in Vietnam includes:
- The presentation of the title of the publication, the form of the homepage interface, does not state it is a "magazine" or "journal" or states it is a "magazine" or "journal" in a very small form or unnoticeable corner, causing difficulties in recognition or misleading readers.
- Specialized pages, but the home page interface template does not say "specialized pages", does not belong to the magazine, or only shows the name of the governing body, which is misleading to be an independent press agency directly under the governing agency.
- The names of the categories do not show their specialization but use words with broad connotations of newspaper type, specifically: Daily news, news, TV news, hot news, life...
- Setting up accounts, pages, channels on social networking platforms in Vietnam with misleading names like "Báo" (newspaper) and "Truyền hình" (television).
