Hot: No need to measure blood pressure for all people getting COVID-19 vaccine in Vietnam

Recently, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam promulgated Decision 4355/QD-BYT provisional guidelines on Covid-19 immunization screening.

According to this Decision, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam guides that when screening before vaccination against COVID-19 vaccine, blood pressure measurement is not mandatory for all vaccinees. Specifically, measuring blood pressure only applies to the following subjects:

- People with a history of high blood pressure / low blood pressure and have underlying medical conditions related to cardiovascular disease.

- People over 65 years old.

Therefore, the measurement of blood pressure of all vaccinated persons is no longer applicable under  this guideline.

In addition, the Ministry of Health continues to note that Pregnant women: Inquire about age of pregnancy. Explain risk/benefits, only consider COVID-19 immunization for pregnant women with ≥ 13 weeks of pregnancy when potential benefits are greater than any potential risks for mothers and children.

At the same time, Breastfeeding women: not recommended for Sputnik V vaccine.

Decision 4355/QD-BYT of Vietnam takes effect from September 10, 2021 and annuls Decision 3802/QD-BYT dated August 10, 2021.
