On November 14, 2023, the Minister of Public Security issued Circular 62/2023/TT-BCA on specific health standards and medical examinations for the People's Public Security forces in Vietnam.

Health classification method in health examinations for new admissions, selection of citizens for the People's Public Security, consideration of transfer to the professional service regime for non-commissioned officers whose term of active service has expired in the People's Public Security as follows:

- Health classification is based on health standards in Appendix I issued with Circular 62/2023/TT-BCA.

- Assigning points

For each indicator, after examination, the doctor gives an even point from 1-6 in the "Point" column, specifically:

1 Point : Indicates very good health condition.

2 Points: Indicates good health condition.

3 Points: Indicates good health condition.

4 Points: Indicates average health condition.

5 Points: Indicates poor health.

6 Points: Indicates very poor health condition.

- Classifying health

Type 1: All criteria score 1.

Type 2: There is at least 1 criterion with a score of 2.

Type 3: There is at least 1 criterion with a score of 3.

Type 4: There is at least 1 criterion with a score of 4.

Type 5: There is at least 1 criterion with a score of 5.

Type 6: There is at least 1 criterion with a score of 6.

Specific conditions for recruiting new citizens to the People's Public Security in Vietnam

Citizens participating in new enrollment and recruitment into the People's Public Security and non-commissioned officers who have completed their active service term in the People's Public Security will be considered for transfer to the professional service regime if they meet the following conditions:

- Not being addicted to narcotics and precursors as prescribed in Decree 57/2022/ND-CP regulating lists of narcotics and precursors;

- Having normal hair color and shape (according to the People's Public Security Order);

- Not having skin pigmentation disorders, except for localized darkening of the cheeks (melasma);

- Not having piercing holes in the nose or other places on the body to wear jewelry. For men, there is no piercing in the ear, or there is a piercing in the ear, but it has healed into a scar; For women, there are no more than 02 piercing holes in 1 ear or only 01 piercing hole in the ear; other piercing holes in the ear that have healed into scars;

- Not having keloid contractions on the head, face, neck, forearms, hands, or feet;

- Not having marks or tattoos, including tattooing on the skin, except for eyebrow tattoos and cosmetic lip tattoos for women.
