Specifications for the front side and back side of an ID card in Vietnam from July 01, 2024

The front side and back side of the identity card for Vietnamese citizens under 06 years old and from 06 years old and above are as follows:

- Front side of the identity card:

+ The front side of the identity card issued to Vietnamese citizens under 06 years old includes the following information:

From left to right, top to bottom: The national emblem of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; the texts: CỘNG HÒA XÃ HỘI CHỦ NGHĨA VIỆT NAM, Độc lập - Tự do - Hạnh phúc; SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIET NAM, Independence - Freedom - Happiness; the text CĂN CƯỚC; ID card; electronic chip symbol; Personal identification number/Số định danh cá nhân; Full name/Họ, chữ đệm và tên khai sinh; Date of birth/Ngày, tháng, năm sinh; Sex/Giới tính; Nationality/Quốc tịch.

+ The front side of the identity card issued to Vietnamese citizens from 06 years old and above includes the following information:

From left to right, from top to bottom: Image of the National emblem of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; the texts: CỘNG HÒA XÃ HỘI CHỦ NGHĨA VIỆT NAM, Độc lập - Tự do - Hạnh phúc; SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIET NAM, Independence - Freedom - Happiness; the text CĂN CƯỚC; ID card; e-chip symbol; portrait of the person issued the identity card; Personal identification number; Full name; Date of birth; Sex; Nationality.

- The back side of the identity card issued to Vietnamese citizens under 06 years old and the identity card issued to Vietnamese citizens from 06 years old and above includes the following information from top to bottom, from left to right, as follows:

+ Place of residence;

+ Place of birth;

+ E-chip symbol;

+ QR code;

+ Date of issue;

+ Date of expiry;

+ MINISTRY OF PUBLIC SECURITY;

+ MRZ line.

Circular 06/2021/TT-BCA on the citizen ID card template will expire from the date Circular 16/2024/TT-BCA takes effect.
