Office of the Government of Vietnam issues Announcement No. 256/TB-VPCP on the conclusion of Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Government of Vietnam regarding the policy of hosting the 31st Southeast Asian Games and the 11th Southeast Asian Para Games in 2021 in Vietnam.

In the meeting of the Standing Committee of The Government of Vietnam, it was unanimously agreed to select Hanoi as the host for Sea Games 31 and Para Games 11 in 2021.

After receiving opinions from the Politburo on the policy of hosting Sea Games 31 in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism officially sent a notification to the Southeast Asian Sports Federation.

At the same time, the Prime Minister assigned the People's Committee of Hanoi to cooperate with inter-agency bodies to develop the Scheme for organizing Sea Games in the spirit of frugality, safety, efficiency, and success, with limited new construction and procurement.
