Guidelines on the Prevention and Control of Acute Respiratory Infections Caused by the Coronavirus (nCoV)

The Ministry of Health has issued Decision No. 181/QD-BYT regarding the promulgation of the "Provisional Guidance on Surveillance and Prevention of Acute Respiratory Infections caused by the novel Coronavirus (nCoV)."

The Ministry of Health provides guidance on non-specific disease prevention measures as follows:

- Individuals with symptoms of respiratory infection or suspected illness such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath should avoid traveling or going to crowded places;- Avoid contact with people with acute respiratory infections; if contact is necessary, medical masks should be worn;- Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing;- Maintain personal hygiene, wash hands frequently with soap, and avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth;- Rinse your throat regularly with antiseptic mouthwash;- Increase ventilation in workplaces, homes, schools, and health facilities by opening doors and windows, and reduce the use of air conditioning;- ...

Note, currently there is no specific preventive measure for the acute respiratory infection caused by the new strain of the Corona virus.
