Guidelines on criteria for cooperatives in the new rural commune criteria in Vietnam

The Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam issued Decision 1245/QD-BKHĐT dated June 30, 2022 on the criteria for cooperatives and industrial parks under the National Criteria for New Rural areas for the period of 2021-2025.

In which, there is a guideline for indicator 13.1 on cooperatives is under Criterion 13 on production organization and rural economic development for new rural communes in Vietnam.

Specifically, a commune in Vietnam achieves the target of 13.1 when there is at least one cooperative that meets the following requirements:

- Organizing and operating in accordance with the current Vietnam's Law on Cooperatives;

- Having at least 01 basic and essential service according to the characteristics of each region | serving cooperative members;

- Being evaluated and graded at a good grade or higher (or average grade or higher for cooperatives established under 03 years) according to the provisions of Circular 01/2020/TT-BKHĐT (if any);

- Having a large enough membership size (provincial People's Committees in Vietnam specify this size in accordance with local conditions).

Decision 1245/QD-BKHDT takes effect from the date of signing in Vietnam.
