Guidance on Wage Rank Transition for National Defense Workers

On August 23, 2017, the Ministry of National Defense issued Circular 207/2017/TT-BQP providing guidance on salary reclassification for defense workers under the organization of the People's Army.

Defense workers as of July 1, 2016, who are arranged according to the required professional qualifications and expertise for the job position will have their salary grades adjusted as follows:

- Starting from grade 1, with salary coefficients of 3.95 or lower, the salary will be increased by one grade every 2 years (full 24 months) according to Appendix 1 attached to Circular 207;- Starting from grade 1, with salary coefficients above 3.95, the salary will be increased by one grade every 3 years (full 36 months) according to Appendix 1 attached to Circular 207.

(The number of years is calculated based on the compulsory social insurance payment period.)

During the process of salary grade transition to the final grade, if there are surplus months, these surplus months will be counted towards the period for the next salary grade increase or to be considered for seniority beyond the scale.
