Guidance on the contents of land inspection in Vietnam in 2024

Pursuant to Directive 22/CT-TTg dated July 23, 2024, on conducting the 2024 land inspection, Decision 817/QD-TTg dated August 9, 2024, approving the “Scheme on land inspection and Mapping the Current Land Use Status for 2024,” and Circular 08/2024/TT-BTNMT which stipulates the land statistics, inventory, and mapping of the current land use status, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Vietnam requests the People's Committees of the provinces and centrally affiliated cities to organize and implement several contents regarding the land inspection in 2024 as follows:

Organize the implementation of the 2024 land inspection and mapping the current land use status according to the provisions in Articles 56, 57, 58, and 59 of the Land Law 2024; Articles 4, 5, 6, and 7 of Decree 102/2024/ND-CP (on land classification and determination of land types); Circular 08/2024/TT-BTNMT stipulating land statistics, inventory, and mapping of the current land use status and to perform the contents and tasks specified in point g, clause 3 of Decision 817/QD-TTg dated August 9, 2024, of the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam.

Additionally, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Vietnam also provides guidance to the People's Committees of the provinces and centrally affiliated cities to directly implement thematic land inspection. Specifically, the contents include:

- Thematic land inspection on the situation of managing and using land with agricultural and forestry origins. This will involve inventorying the total area of land managed and used by agricultural and forestry companies by each commune-level administrative unit within the provincial area and consolidating it into Appendix 02 according to forms 01a/KKNLT, 01b/KKNLT, 01c/KKNLT, and 02/KKNLT;

- Thematic land inspection on the situation of lands in areas prone to erosion and accretion over five years (2020-2024), including: Eroded areas (riverbanks, mountains, coastline), accreted areas (riverbanks, coastline) according to land types stipulated in Article 9 of the Land Law 2024 and Articles 4, 5, and 6 of Decree 102/2024/ND-CP and consolidating it into Appendix 02 according to forms 01/KKSL and 02/KKSL.
