On November 08, 2018, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment issued Circular 20/2018/TT-BTNMT stipulating policies for statistical reporting in the field of natural resources and environment. This document replaces Circular 02/2014/TT-BTNMT.

According to the new regulations, the reporting is recorded and conducted periodically (semi-annually or annually), calculated according to the Gregorian calendar, specifically:

- Semi-annual statistical report is calculated from January 1 to June 30;- Annual statistical report is calculated from January 1 to December 31.

For inspection reports:

- Semi-annual statistical report is calculated from December 16 of the previous year to June 15 of the reporting year;- Annual statistical report is calculated from December 16 of the previous year to December 15 of the reporting year.

Reports can be submitted in paper format or through the electronic reporting system. In which, the paper report must bear the signature and seal of the unit head; the electronic report must have the digital signature of the unit head.
