Guidance on implementing physical education, sports activities and school health tasks for the 2024-2025 school year in Vietnam

In the implementation of the tasks for the 2024-2025 academic year, to continue improving the quality and meeting practical requirements, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam (MOET) offers guidance on implementing the tasks of Physical Education, sports activities, and school health with the general tasks as follows:

- Continue to innovate and improve the quality of physical education work, exercise, and sports activities for students, especially focusing on the combination of reasonable nutrition policies and appropriate forms of exercise for each educational level and locality to ensure comprehensive development in morality, intellect, physical fitness, and aesthetics.

- Direct and fully implement the contents and requirements regarding safe schools and accident and injury prevention in educational institutions. Strengthen the coordination between family, school, and society to organize nurturing, caring for, training, and managing preschool children and students within and outside the school, ensuring safety and efficiency; focus on disease prevention, school health issues, preventing accidents and injuries, and mental health care.

- Continue to maintain, stabilize, and develop the sports competition system for students associated with the content of the Physical Education subject under the General Education Program 2018; the Physical Education program under higher education training programs, develop swimming and encourage traditional sports.

- Promote the application of information technology, digital transformation (building and effectively utilizing digital learning materials, electronic lectures...) for physical education work, sports activities; complete the database on school health and criteria for building a safe, friendly, and happy school. Implement inspection, supervision, and monitoring according to authority.

- Organize summing up and evaluating schemes and programs on physical education and school health in the 2021 - 2025 period; continue to propose and advise on building in the next phase.
