Guidance on Identifying Close Contacts of Suspected Covid-19 Cases

The National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control has just issued Decision No. 2234/QD-BCDQG on guidelines for prevention, control, and assessment of the risk of Covid-19 infection in apartment complexes.

Guidelines issued with this Decision define close contact persons as those who have been within 2 meters of a confirmed or suspected case during the infectious period, including:

- People living in the same household, same residence;- People in the same work group or in the same office;- People in the same group: traveling, working, entertaining, partying, meeting, etc.;- People sitting in the same row and the rows immediately in front or behind on the same means of transport. In specific cases, depending on the epidemiological investigation results, health authorities will decide whether to expand the list of close contacts for passengers on the same means of transport;- Anyone who has had close contact with a confirmed or suspected case during the infectious period in other situations.
