Guidance on Additional Provisions for Payment of Medical Examination Fees

According to Official Dispatch 7117/BYT-KH-TC dated September 27, 2016, which provides additional guidance on the implementation of Joint Circular 37/2015/TTLT-BYT-BTC, the payment for medical examination (KB) is carried out as follows:

- Patients visiting healthcare facilities (KCB) who have already been examined and provided medication for treatment but later exhibit abnormal symptoms and return to the healthcare facility for re-examination on the same day, and continue to receive examination, the collection of fees and payment with the Social Insurance Agency shall be as per Point a, Clause 1, Section II Official Dispatch 824/BYT-KH-TC.

- In the case where the healthcare facility organizes specialized examination rooms within clinical departments, patients registering for examination at the examination department and undergoing examination in specialized examination rooms within the clinical departments, the calculation of costs and number of examination times shall be as per Point a, Clause 1, Section II of Official Dispatch 824/BYT-KH-TC.

- In cases where the patient is admitted to the emergency department without going through the examination department:- Treatment duration < 4 hours: Payment for examination fees, medication costs, and technical service fees, but no payment for inpatient bed treatment fees.- Treatment duration ≥ 4 hours: Payment for inpatient bed treatment fees, medication costs, and technical service fees according to regulations, but no payment for examination fees.
