Grading Scale for Professional Classification of Private Hospitals

The Ministry of Health has just issued Decision 6062/QD-BYT on the Promulgation of Criteria for Technical Specialty Classification and Equivalent Ranking for Private Medical Examination and Treatment Facilities.

During the process of issuing Operating Licenses for private hospitals, the competent authority must base their decisions on the following criteria to classify these hospitals professionally:

- Bed scale: 15 points;- Labor structure, medical staff qualifications: 17 points;- Scope of professional activities: 52 points;- Infrastructure, medical equipment: 12 points;- Location, function, mission: 4 points.

The grading for professional classification is the total points based on the above criteria, specifically regulated as follows:

- Grade I: From ≥ 90 points to ≤ 100 points;- Grade II: From ≥ 70 points to < 90 points;- Grade III: From ≥ 40 points to < 70 points;- Grade IV: < 40 points.
