Government of Vietnam's approval on the reduction of electricity prices and electricity bills for the 3rd time
On June 2, 2021, the Government of Vietnam issued Resolution 55/NQ-CP on the plan to support electricity price, electricity bills (phase 3) for customers using electricity.

According to the Resolution, the Government of Vietnam agreed on a plan to support electricity price and electricity bill for electricity users affected by the COVID-19 epidemic (phase 3) as proposed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam in Report 283/BC on May 27, 2021.
Previously, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Official Dispatch 9764/BCT-DTDL dated December 18, 2020, guiding the implementation of the second phase of electricity price reduction and reduction. For example,
- 10% discount on retail electricity price for customers using domestic electricity from level 1 to level 4 in accordance with Decision 648/QD-BCT dated March 20, 2019.
- Reduce electricity bills (before tax) directly for establishments serving Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control by buying electricity from EVN's units and electricity retailers.
- 100% reduction of electricity bills for facilities used for isolation and concentrated medical examination of patients suspected of being infected with COVID-19.
- 20% discount on electricity bills for medical facilities that are easy to use for examination, testing, and treatment of patients suspected of being infected with COVID-19.
Vietnam's Resolution 55/NQ-CP takes effect from June 2, 2021.
