This is a new regulation in Circular 20/2018/TT-BYT amending Circular 05/2017/TT-BYT on the maximum price and service costs for determining the price of a unit of whole blood and qualified blood products.
Based on Circular 20/2018/TT-BYT, voluntary blood donors can choose to receive gifts in kind or medical examination and treatment services with a minimum value as follows:
For whole blood donors
- One unit of blood with a volume of 250 ml: 100,000 VND;- One unit of blood with a volume of 350 ml: 150,000 VND;- One unit of blood with a volume of 450 ml: 180,000 VND.
For voluntary component blood donors
- One unit of blood component with a volume from 250 to 400 ml: 150,000 VND;- One unit of blood component with a volume from 400 to 500 ml: 200,000 VND;- One unit of blood component with a volume from 500 to 650 ml: 250,000 VND.
The total cost of medical examination and treatment services must be equivalent to the above-mentioned minimum expenditure; if lower, it will be supplemented with gifts in kind.
