Functions and Duties of the Library from July 01, 2020

Law on Libraries 2019 was passed by the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, 14th Legislature, at its 8th session on November 21, 2019.

Library Law 2019 has stipulated the functions and duties of the library from July 1, 2020, as follows:

- Construct, process, store, preserve, connect, and develop information resources suitable for library users.- Organize the shared use of information resources, information products, and library services; disseminate knowledge and cultural values of the nation and humanity.- Serve the needs of research, learning, and entertainment; contribute to the formation and development of knowledge, skills, qualities, and capacities of library users.- Apply scientific and technological achievements, modernize the library.- Develop reading culture and contribute to creating a lifelong learning environment for the People, build a learning society, enhance people's knowledge, and develop a well-rounded Vietnamese populace.
