This is the notable content stipulated in Decree 117/2020/ND-CP on the imposition of administrative penalties in the field of health.
Decree 117/2020/ND-CP significantly increases fines for violations of medical isolation and coercive medical isolation in Vietnam
Effective from September 28, 2020, Decree 117/2020/ND-CP stipulates fines ranging from VND 15,000,000 to VND 20,000,000 for any of the following acts:
- Failing to organize medical isolation for individuals infected by Group A infectious diseases. (According to Decree 176/2013/ND-CP, the fine was only from VND 5,000,000 to VND 10,000,000)
- Refusing or evading the implementation of medical isolation orders or coercive medical isolation by competent state authorities for individuals infected by Group A infectious diseases or for subjects under border health quarantine infected by Group A infectious diseases, or when required by competent state authorities. (According to Decree 176/2013/ND-CP, the fine was only from VND 5,000,000 to VND 10,000,000)
- Carrying out medical isolation or coercive medical isolation at locations that do not meet the legal requirements for medical isolation or coercive medical isolation. (According to Decree 176/2013/ND-CP, the fine was only from VND 2,000,000 to VND 5,000,000).
