This is a notable content in Decree 52/2018/ND-CP on the regulations for the development of rural occupations, which was just issued by the Government on April 12, 2018.
Conditions for being recognized as a craft village include:
- At least 20% of the total number of households in the area must engage in rural craft activities, a 10% reduction compared to the current regulation;- Business production activities must be stable for at least 02 consecutive years up to the time of the recognition request;- Compliance with environmental protection conditions for craft villages as prescribed by current law.
Additionally, craft villages are also supported with funding to invest in the construction of infrastructure for transportation, electricity, clean water; drainage systems, the construction of centers, sales points, and the introduction of craft village products.
Decree 52/2018/ND-CP took effect on June 1, 2018, replacing Decree 66/2006/ND-CP.
