The Government has just issued Decree 124/2021/ND-CP amending Decree 117/2020/ND-CP stipulating penalties for administrative violations in the health sector.

Accordingly, from January 1, 2022, the penalty for not wearing a mask or not making medical declaration is as follows:

- A fine ranging from VND 1 million to VND 3 million shall be imposed for failure to take personal protective measures against people participating in the fight against epidemics and people at risk of contracting the disease according to the guidance of health authorities, including including: wearing a mask, disinfecting, keeping distance, medical declaration and other measures.

(Compared to the current, detailed list of behaviors that are considered non-compliance with personal protection measures in epidemic prevention such as: not wearing a mask, disinfecting, keeping a distance, making medical declarations, ...)

It should be noted that the act of concealing, failing to declare or not timely declaring the status of COVID-19 disease of oneself or another person will be subject to a fine of between VND 10 million and VND 20 million (according to Point a, Clause 3 Article 7 of Decree 117/2020/ND-CP ).

Decree 124/2021/ND-CP takes effect from January 1, 2022.
