From April 23, 2020, Courts Must Hold Trials Including on Saturdays and Sundays

Recently, the Supreme People's Court issued Official Dispatch No. 141A/TANDTC-VP in 2020 regarding the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Effective from April 23, 2020, the courts and units under the Supreme People's Court must strictly implement the following contents:

- Require officials and employees to work at the office headquarters;- Schedule hearings and resolve cases that have been suspended, including on Saturdays and Sundays to ensure deadlines and resolution time frames. In cases where there are not enough meeting rooms or courtrooms, arrange to hire meeting rooms and provision courtrooms that meet the necessary conditions;- Prioritize the hearing and resolution of cases nearing the end of their resolution deadlines; cases related to Covid-19 prevention and control; and serious cases that attract public attention;- From now until the end of May 31, 2020, when organizing the hearing and resolution of cases, continue to implement effective measures for disease prevention and control.
