Recently, the National Assembly Standing Committee passed Resolution 795/NQ-UBTVQH14 to continue improving and enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of the implementation of policies and laws regarding the realization of the national target program for sustainable poverty reduction in ethnic minority and mountainous regions.
To achieve the sustainable poverty reduction target, the National Assembly Standing Committee (UBTVQH) has proposed several specific solutions, including requesting the Government of Vietnam to continue promoting the implementation of policies for ethnic minority and mountainous regions that are still in effect. Particularly, they emphasize addressing the hardships in the lives of peoples from very small ethnic minority groups, ensuring that their standard of living is equivalent to other ethnic groups in the region according to the Scheme's target by 2025.
At the same time, the Government of Vietnam is tasked with developing the Scheme "Criteria for defining ethnic minority and mountainous regions" to be implemented from 2021 as the basis for law application and the formulation and implementation of ethnic policies.
See detailed solutions at: Resolution 795/NQ-UBTVQH14, effective from October 22, 2019.
