The Minister of Transport of Vietnam issued Circular 48/2022/TT-BGTVT December 30, 2022 on guidance for energy labeling for electric and hybrid electric automobiles, bikes and motorcycles.
Specifically, the forms of disclosure of information related to energy consumption in Vietnam include:
- Submit the public version of the energy consumption of the vehicle type to the quality management agency for publication on the quality management agency's website.
- Publishing energy consumption data on the websites of vehicle manufacturing, assembly (SXLR), importing (NK), and trading establishments (if any).
In addition, the energy labeling for electric cars and motorcycles in Vietnam is guided as follows:
- Manufacturers and importers print energy labels by themselves according to the form prescribed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
- For vehicles using the same Energy Consumption Test Report, SXLR and NK establishments can publish information on the same energy label.
- Energy label location:
+ The energy label must be displayed inside the vehicle, on the driver's side, the rear fixed side window, or the rear windshield for pure electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The location is easy to see from the outside of the car.
It is permissible to stick it on the outside of the vehicle in an easily visible position if it is difficult to see when pasted inside the vehicle.
+ For pure-electric motorcycles and hybrid electric motorcycles, the energy label must be displayed prominently.
Vietnam's Circular 48/2022/TT-BGTVT takes effect on July 1, 2023.
