Financial support for Vietnamese lecturers sent to study for a PhD or master's degree

Recently, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam promulgated Circular 25/2021/TT-BGDĐT guiding the implementation of PhD and master's degree training for lecturers of higher education institutions under Decision 89/QD-TTg.

According to the Circular,  lecturers sent to study for PhD and master's degrees will receive financial support when studying full-time, including both domestic and foreign studies.

Permanent lecturers and source lecturers may participate in the selection to receive funding support when meeting the following conditions:

- Being a Vietnamese citizen, age not more than 40 years as of the year of selection.

- Having good political and moral qualities; be healthy enough to go to school;

- Not during the period of being considered, or disciplined from reprimand or more; do not fall into the category of not yet allowed to enter or exit as prescribed;

- Participating in the selection to study for a doctorate or master's degree or studying a PhD training program for the first time;

- Satisfy the admission requirements of the training program or are studying for a PhD training program, must have at least 18 months of study remaining;

- Have not received or committed not to receive a full scholarship from the State budget of Vietnam or other funding sources.

Circular 25/2021/TT-BGDDT of Vietnam takes effect from October 24, 2021 and replaces Circular 35/2012/TT-BGDDT
