File on the 2018 Oil and Gas Facility Decommissioning Plan

On December 21, 2017, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam issued Decision 49/2017/QD-TTg regarding the removal of structures, equipment, and means serving petroleum activities.

Within a period of 9 months from the commencement of commercial extraction (the current regulation is 1 year) or 1 year from the date the oil and gas project is put into operation, the organization or individual must prepare and submit a set of documents regarding the decommissioning plan of the oil and gas project to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The dossier components include:

- A written request for approval of the oil and gas project decommissioning plan;- A written approval from the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group regarding the decommissioning plan (applicable to contractors and enterprises that are members of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group);- 1 copy of the oil and gas project decommissioning plan;- 25 copies of the summary of the oil and gas project decommissioning plan.
