Fields of science and technology eligible to select the leading scientist in Vietnam

The field of science and technology considered for selection of the leading scientist is determined by Grade 2 Classification of scientific and technological research fields promulgated together with Decision 12/2008/QD-BKHCN dated September 4, 2008.

For example, natural sciences include: Mathematics and Statistics; Computer Science and Information; Physics; Chemistry; Related earth and environmental sciences; Biology; Other natural sciences.

As for science, technology and technology, there are: Civil engineering; Electrical engineering, electronic engineering, information engineering; Mechanical engineer; Chemical engineering; Materials engineering and metallurgy; Medical engineering;...

The identification of science and technology branches is considered, and the selection of leading scientists is ensured to be consistent with the science and technology development strategy in each specific period.

Responsibility for implementing guidelines on the attraction, use, and personal use of scientific and technological activities in Vietnam

Annually, public non-business units engaged in scientific and technological activities shall review and evaluate the results of scientific and technological activities of individuals to apply or propose competent authorities to apply preferential policies for the use and respect of individuals in scientific and technological activities.

Ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government-attached agencies, and provincial People's Committees shall, based on the provisions of Circular 05/2023/TT-BKHCN on guiding and directing public non-business units engaged in scientific and technological activities, implement the policy of using and honoring individuals for scientific and technological activities. Annually, report on the results of the implementation of policies on personal use and use of scientific and technological activities according to Circular 13/2021/TT-BKHCN stipulating the periodical reporting regime within the scope of state management of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Circular 05/2023/TT-BKHCN takes effect from 7/7/2023.
