Extension of the deadlines for ministerial-level science and technology tasks of the State Bank of Vietnam

According to the provisions of paragraph 1, Article 22 of Circular 45/2024/TT-NHNN, the extension of the deadlines for ministerial-level science and technology tasks of the State Bank of Vietnam is as follows:

- The extension of time for implementation of ministerial-level science and technology tasks is carried out in the following cases:

+  In  the  case  where,  at  least  30  days  before  the  end  of  the  implementation  period  of  the  contract  for  the  ministerial-level  science  and  technology  task,  if  it  is  necessary  to  extend  the  implementation  time,  the  leading  organization  of  the  ministerial-level  science  and  technology  task  must  submit  a  written  request  for  the  extension  to  the  Bank  Strategy  Institute,  which  reports  on  the  status  of  the  tasks  at  the  time  of  the  request  for  extension  and  clearly  states  the  reason  for  the  delay  in  task  implementation;

+  In  the  case  specified  at  point  a,  paragraph  2,  Article  27  of  Circular  45/2024/TT-NHNN  and  the  leading  organization  of  the  ministerial-level  science  and  technology  task  submits  a  written  request  for  extension  to  the  Bank  Strategy  Institute;

- Within 15 days from the date of receipt of the request for extension of the ministerial-level science and technology task, the Bank Strategy Institute is responsible for reviewing and submitting the request to the Governor for consideration and decision on task extension;

- If the ministerial-level science and technology task is approved for extension by the Governor, the extension period is calculated from the end date of the contract for the task and is specified in the extension decision. The maximum extension is 12 months for tasks with a duration of more than 24 months, 6 months for tasks with a duration not exceeding 24 months, and 3 months for tasks with a duration not exceeding 12 months. In special cases, the extension period is decided by the Governor;

- If the ministerial-level science and technology task is not extended in time, the Bank Strategy Institute shall notify the leading organization or individual responsible for the task.

More details can be found in Circular 45/2024/TT-NHNN, which comes into force in Vietnam from October 16, 2024.
