Expenditure levels for mediation work at the grassroots level from October 6, 2023 in Vietnam

Specifically, expenses for mediation work at the grassroots level will have the following spending levels:

- Remuneration for mediators (for mediators directly participating in mediation cases and matters): 300,000 VND/case or task. In case the case or matter is successfully conciliated according to Article 24 of the Law on Grassroots mediation: 400,000 VND/case or matter;

- Support for medical expenses for treatment and recovery of lost or reduced health and function for mediators who have an accident while performing mediation activities at the facility (including cases where the mediator has an accident and is treated, fostered, and cared for before death), the following procedures shall be carried out:

+ For accident victims who participate in health insurance, payment of medical expenses for treatment, recovery of health, and lost or reduced functions of the accident victim will be made according to the provisions of the law on health insurance;

+ For accident victims who do not participate in health insurance, the state budget supports medical expenses for treatment and recovery of lost or reduced health and function at the same rate as the cost of medical examination and treatment of health insurance participants, which are paid by the health insurance fund according to the provisions of Point dd, Clause 1, Article 22 of the Law on Health Insurance (amended and supplemented in 2014).

- Support for actual lost or reduced income for mediators who have accidents during the period of treatment and recovery of lost or reduced health and function according to the provisions of Joint Circular 02/2013/TTLT-BNV-BLDTBXH-BTC-BYT;

- Funeral cost support for the person organizing the funeral of a conciliator who has an accident or risk of loss of life while performing mediation activities at the facility: 05 months' base salary;

- Expenditures to support the activities of the mediation team (expenses for purchasing stationery, photocopying documents, and drinks for mediation team meetings): 150,000 VND/mediation team/month.
