Establishment of the World Heritage Conservation Fund to Attract Sponsorship

This is the responsibility of the provincial People's Committee in protecting and managing world cultural and natural heritage in Vietnam under Decree 109/2017/ND-CP recently issued by the Government of Vietnam on September 21, 2017.

The provincial People's Committee is responsible for:

- Issuing normative legal documents within its authority on the protection and management of world heritage within the locality;- Deciding on the establishment of a World Heritage Conservation Fund to attract sponsorship and contributions from domestic and international organizations and individuals;- Preventing and handling organizations and individuals who infringe on world heritage;- Organizing the implementation of master planning, management plans, and protection regulations for world heritage under the direction of relevant Ministries and sectors;- Annually, by the first quarter, sending reports on the results of the implementation of the master plan, world heritage management plan (of the previous year), and proposing plans to relevant Ministries and sectors.

Decree 109/2017/ND-CP is effective from November 10, 2017.
