Effective from July 1, 2017, officially increase statutory pay rate

This is the prominent content mentioned in the Resolution on State Budget Estimates for 2017 (adopted by the National Assembly on November 11, 2016).

The National Assembly tasks the Government of Vietnam with implementing the adjustment of the statutory pay rate from the current 1,210,000 VND/month to 1,300,000 VND/month, and adjusting pensions, social insurance benefits, and preferential allowances for individuals who rendered services to the nation to be increased by the same statutory pay rate adjustment starting from July 1, 2017.

In the near future, the Government of Vietnam will actualize the aforementioned contents by promulgating a new Decree to replace Decree 47/2016/ND-CP providing regulations on the statutory pay rate for officials and public employees, and armed forces.

The ministries, central agencies, and local authorities shall autonomously balance to allocate the increased statutory pay rate based on the state budget estimates assigned.
