Duties of Traffic Police in the inspection and control of railway traffic in Vietnam from January 1, 2025

The Traffic Police in railway traffic inspection and control in Vietnam are tasked with:

- Implementing orders, inspection, control plans, and handling violations as issued by the competent authority.

- Inspecting, controlling, and handling violations, ensuring security, order, and safety of railway traffic within the assigned routes and localities.

- Promptly detecting, preventing, and handling acts of law violations in the field of railway traffic, other legal violations, and ensuring security and order according to regulations; cooperate with relevant agencies and functional units to detect and prevent violations of railway facility protection regulations and railway traffic safety corridors.

- Coordinating the investigation, verification, and resolution of railway traffic accidents as prescribed by law and the Ministry of Public Security.

- Directly, in cooperation with units inside and outside the People's Public Security force, fight against crime and other legal violations on railway traffic routes. Participate in anti-terrorism, riot prevention; disease and disaster prevention; fire prevention, fighting, rescue, and relief on railway traffic routes according to regulations.

- Cooperating with relevant agencies, organizations, and individuals to ensure security, order, and safety in railway operations.

- Assisting and supporting railway traffic participants when necessary.

- Through inspection, control, and violation handling, execute the following tasks:

+ Identify loopholes, deficiencies, and inadequacies in state management of railway activities to report and propose competent authorities to recommend remedial measures promptly to functional agencies;

+ Guide, propagate, and mobilize the people to participate in ensuring railway traffic order and safety and comply with railway traffic laws.

- Performing other duties of the People's Public Security force as stipulated by law.
