Duties of the President of Vietnam in the upcoming period
On April 8, 2021, the National Assembly of Vietnam approved Resolution 161/2021/QH14 on the duties in 2016-2021 of the National Assembly, the President, agencies of the National Assembly, the Government, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy and the State Audit.

According to the resolution, in the coming months, the President of Vietnam shall continue to promote the lessons learned and achievements, in which focusing on the following:

To continue to promote his role as the head of State, representing the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in domestic and foreign affairs, performing the task of dominating the people's armed forces as Chairman of the National Defense Council and Security of Vietnam;

To step up the construction, consolidation, and promotion of the strength of the great national unity bloc, to meet the requirements and tasks of renewal, national construction and defense, and international integration;

To promote foreign relations to continue in depth, practicality, and effectiveness in order to enhance the position and international prestige of our country; creating stable and sustainable political trust with foreign partners of Vietnam;

To properly and effectively handle relations with neighboring countries, major countries, strategic partners, comprehensive partners, and other partners;

To strengthen leadership and direction for the good implementation of judicial reform, amnesty, emulation, and commendation.
Vietnam's Resolution 161/2021/QH14 takes effect from May 23, 2021.
