Minister of Finance of Vietnam issued Circular 37/2023/TT-BTC dated 07/6/2023 stipulating the collection rate, mode of collection, payment, management and use of driving test fee; fees for granting diplomas and certificates to operate on all kinds of vehicles and fees for registration and issuance of plates for special-use motorcycles.
Specifically, the driving test fees for class A1, B1 and B2 licenses applied from August 1, 2023 in Vietnam are as follows:
- A1 driver license test fee from August 1, 2023:
+ Theory test: 60,000 VND/time (an increase of 20,000 VND/time compared to current regulations).
+ Practical test: 70,000 VND/time (an increase of 20,000 VND/time compared to current regulations).
- Charges for driving license test B1 and B2 from August 1, 2023:
+ Theory test: 100,000 VND/time (an increase of 10,000 VND/time compared to current regulations).
+ Maneuverability test: 350,000 VND/time (an increase of 50,000 VND/time compared to current regulations).
+ Public road test: 80,000 VND/time (an increase of 20,000 VND/time compared to current regulations).
+ Driving test by software to simulate traffic situations: 1100,000 VND/time (currently no charge).
Note:
- The above-mentioned driving test fees are applied uniformly across the country (regardless of centrally managed agencies or locally managed agencies).
- Those who take the test to obtain a road motor vehicle license for a part must pay the driving test fee for that part (calculated according to the test time: first test, retest).
Payers are organizations and individuals that submit dossiers to the Vietnam Road Administration and provincial road management agencies.
centrally-run cities serving the tasks of collecting fees and charges, including:
- Issuing certificates of registration and plates of special-use motorbikes.
- Issuing diplomas and certificates to operate on all types of vehicles.
- Test to be granted a road motor vehicle driving license.
Circular 37/2023/TT-BTC takes effect from August 1, 2023 and replaces Circular 188/2016/TT-BTC dated November 8, 2016.
