Directive to strengthen the party's leadership in practicing thrift and combating waste in Vietnam

To enhance the practice of thrift and prevent wastefulness, the Politburo requests that party organizations, government authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and other political and social organizations focus on implementing the following key tasks and solutions:

- Fully understand and effectively implement the Party's guidelines, policies, and state laws regarding the practice of thrift and the prevention of wastefulness.

- Integrate the content of thrift and anti-wastefulness education into the national education system.

- Continuously review, supplement, and improve laws on the practice of thrift and prevention of wastefulness, with a focus on making thrift the goal and anti-wastefulness the task, ensuring consistency, coherence, and feasibility.

- Develop and effectively implement a national strategy and program on the practice of thrift and prevention of wastefulness for a period of five years, with comprehensive and prioritized annual plans, focusing on key areas such as energy, land, resources, minerals, the state budget, and public assets.

- Strengthen state management, tighten discipline, thoroughly practice thrift and prevent wastefulness, and improve the effectiveness of managing and utilizing national resources.

- Promote the people's right to mastery, the supervisory and critical role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, political and social organizations, mass organizations, and the people.

- Strengthen grassroots democracy, create conditions for the activities of grassroots people's inspection and community monitoring; promptly detect, inform, and prevent acts of loss, wastefulness, and negativity. Timely acknowledge, commend, and replicate typical examples and initiatives; take practical measures to protect whistleblowers and those who expose acts of wastefulness and loss.
