Directive of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam on stabilizing the market at the end of 2024 and during the 2025 Lunar New Year

To ensure the balance of supply and demand for essential goods, the stabilization of the goods market at the end of 2024, and during the 2025 Lunar New Year, while setting the groundwork to achieve macroeconomic goals in 2025 of the Government of Vietnam, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam requests the Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces and central-affiliated cities to promptly prepare production, business plans, supply plans for goods, and address unusual market fluctuations, while also seriously undertaking the following tasks:

- Closely monitor market developments, supply, and demand for essential goods, especially those with high demand or significant price fluctuations in the area over the past time to proactively develop plans or propose to the competent authorities measures to ensure the balance of supply and demand, market stability, avoiding the situation of shortages, supply disruptions leading to sudden price increases during the year-end and Lunar New Year periods.

- Actively advise the provincial People's Committee on preparing sources, stocking essential goods for Tet; implement market stabilization measures according to law; cooperate with the banking sector to support and connect enterprises that produce and distribute essential goods for Tet, with local financial institutions to access loan sources with preferential interest rates, stock goods for market stabilization before, during, and after Lunar New Year.

- Coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and relevant units to closely monitor the production situation, weather developments, epidemics, post-storm and flood damages, assess production capacity, and recovery ability after natural disasters to supply necessary agricultural products and food goods for the market during the year-end and Tet period; proactively develop plans or propose solutions to ensure the supply, market stability of essential agricultural products and food during the year-end and Tet At Ty 2025.

- Lead cooperate with relevant Departments, Agencies, and sectors to organize activities connecting distribution enterprises with essential goods suppliers, creating a stock for market stabilization serving Tet; cooperate with localities to implement trade promotion activities, supply-demand connections to support the consumption of safe agricultural products, regional specialties combined with creating supply for Tet...
