Directive 38: Considering not exporting some minerals as raw materials for cement production in Vietnam

This is a noteworthy content stipulated in Directive 38/CT-TTg on continuing to strengthen state management of the activities of exploration, mining, processing, use, and export of minerals in Vietnam.

In order to continue strengthening the effectiveness and efficiency of state management with respect to the exploration, exploitation, processing, use, and export of minerals, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam directs the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam to carry out the following tasks:

- Review and supplement the list of certain types of minerals used as raw materials for cement production that are not to be exported to meet domestic demand; restrict investment in expansion and capacity increase of cement projects in major cities, densely populated areas, and areas with landscapes and natural environments that need protection;

- Review and promulgate regulations on technical criteria for the export of block stone, dimensional stone; white silica sand, and yellow mold sand after processing, balancing domestic demand, and ensuring mineral reserves;

- Review and promulgate complete technical standards for alternative construction materials for construction sand; ensure the balance of supply and demand for construction materials in Vietnam;
