The Ministry of Public Security has just promulgated Circular 68/2020/TT-BCA stipulating the procedures for patrolling, inspecting, and handling administrative violations by the Waterway Police.
This Circular stipulates in detail the signals to stop vehicles for control as follows:
- During the day: Direct the “K Flag” towards the vehicles needing control, wave it three times in a vertical motion from top to bottom, and simultaneously emit a sound signal with one long blast, one short blast, and one long blast;- At night: Direct the light signal towards the vehicle needing control, emit one long flash, one short flash, and one long flash, and simultaneously emit a sound signal with one long sound, one short sound, and one long sound;- In addition to the above signals, a loudspeaker can be used to instruct vehicles to stop or slow down for control.
Note: When stopping vehicles for control, it is necessary to consider the traffic density, the situation, and the characteristics of the traffic flow and routes to ensure safety and normal circulation of other vehicles.
