Details of Restricted Areas for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (Drones)

The Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam has just issued Decision No. 18/2020/QD-TTg on the establishment of no-fly zones and restricted flying zones for unmanned aircraft and ultralight vehicles.

in this Decision that stipulates restricted flight zones include:

- Areas of airspace with an altitude greater than 120m above the terrain;- Areas with a high concentration of people;- Border areas, wherein the land border between Vietnam and China extends 25,000m inward to Vietnamese territory at any altitude; the land border between Vietnam and Laos, and Vietnam and Cambodia extends 10,000m inward to Vietnamese territory at any altitude;- Areas adjacent to no-fly zones in airports and airfields with civilian and military aircraft activities, extending outward 3,000m in width and 5,000m in length from the boundary of no-fly zones in airports and airfields; altitude is less than 120m above the terrain.
