Deputy Prime Minister Permits Advancing the Rice Export Quota of 100,000 Tons

Here is the notable content in Notification 163/TB-VPCP on the conclusion of Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung at the meeting on the implementation and execution of the Prime Minister's directive of the Government of Vietnam on rice exportation in the context of the pandemic, drought, and saline intrusion according to Document 2827/VPCP-KTTH.

To ensure that rice exports in the upcoming period do not affect national food security while protecting the rights of producers and businesses, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung requires ministries, agencies, and localities to promptly implement the following actions:

- Allow a provisional export quota advance of 100,000 tons to handle rice from enterprises transported to ports before March 24, 2020 but not yet registered with customs declarations;- For enterprises that have opened customs declarations for rice exports, the Ministry of Finance shall take the lead and cooperate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to review and inspect to detect enterprises with false declarations lacking goods (registered the quota but without rice) and handle according to the provisions of law;- Permit the export of glutinous rice in April 2020 according to market demand;- ...
