The Government of Vietnam has officially passed Decree 15/2018/ND-CP providing detailed guidance on the Law on Food Safety. Notably, it includes provisions on the documentation and procedures for the self-declaration of food products.

Accordingly:

- Organizations and individuals manufacturing and trading food products are required to self-declare prepackaged processed food, food additives, food processing aids, food containers, and food packaging materials that are in direct contact with food.- For products and imported raw materials used solely for the production and processing of goods for export or for internal production without being marketed domestically, the self-declaration procedures are exempted.

Self-declaration dossier includes:

- Self-declaration of product form (Form No. 01 attached with Decree 15);- Test results of food safety for the product within 12 months from the filing date (Original or certified copy).
