the Government of Vietnam has officially passed Decree 141/2017/ND-CP on regional minimum wage increase from January 01, 2018.

Minimum regional wage rates applicable from January 1, 2018 are as follows:

- Region I: 3,980,000 VND/month;- Region II: 3,530,000 VND/month;- Region III: 3,090,000 VND/month;- Region IV: 2,760,000 VND/month.

Concurrently, the localities applying the new regional minimum wage rates have also been adjusted as follows:

- From Region II to Region I for Long Khanh (Dong Nai province) at the district-level town;- From Region III to Region II, including: Thong Nhat district (Dong Nai province); Thu Thua district (Long An province); Tam Ky city (Quang Nam province);- From Region IV to Region III, including: Phu Ninh district (Quang Nam province); Loc Ninh and Phu Rieng districts (Binh Phuoc province);- From Region III to Region IV for Luong Son district (Hoa Binh province).

Decree 141/2017/ND-CP is effective from January 25, 2018, replacing Decree 153/2016/ND-CP.
