On January 10, 2022, the Government issued Decree 08/2022/ND-CP detailing a number of articles of the Law on Environmental Protection.
Accordingly, the regulations on the area that must be investigated, assessed and classified the quality of the land environment include:
- Areas contaminated with chemicals during the war;
- Areas with concentrated production, business and service zones, industrial clusters, chemical warehouses, plant protection drug warehouses, craft villages that have been closed or relocated;
- Areas with closed or relocated production facilities in one of the following categories:
+ Exploiting and processing toxic minerals and metallic minerals;
+ Mineral processing using toxic chemicals;
+ Producing cast iron, steel, metallurgy (except rolling, drawing, casting from raw materials);
+ Production of basic inorganic chemicals (except for industrial gases), inorganic fertilizers (except for mixing, extraction and packaging), chemical plant protection drugs (except for mixing and extraction);
+ Refining, petrochemical; thermal power (except using gas, DO oil);
+ Recycling and treating daily-life solid waste, ordinary industrial solid waste, and hazardous waste; there is a stage of plating, cleaning metal surfaces with dangerous chemicals;
+ Manufacture of batteries and accumulators;
- Areas contaminated with chemicals and pesticides.
Decree 08/2022/ND-CP takes effect from January 10, 2022.
